Obama on Being President -- what he said vs. what he did

1. Return to our best traditions [of capitalism and the private ownership of the means of production and distribution]
Spent huge amounts to prop up ailing banks and auto companies, acquiring significant government ownership and control.
Turned over a controlling interest in Chrysler to the UAW -- now we have a workers’ paradise [where have we heard that term before]; ignored the other pension fund stockholders and bondholders but saving the union’s retirement plan while bludgeoning everyone else’s.
2. We are no longer just a Christian nation.
So much for returning to our best traditions – the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country.
Found time to visit a mosque but not to visit the cemeteries where our WW II dead lie buried.
Bowed low to a Saudi king -- since when is it a tradition for our president to bow to anyone.
3. A policy to eliminate extreme global poverty
Our best tradition is to mind our own business, to put our house in order, and limit our involvement on the international stage. Our tradition is to look to our own financial stability and well-being as our best contribution to international solvency.
We should not be giving away that which we do not have.
4. I believe in free trade even though for millions of Americans its burdens outweigh its benefits.
Hmmmm. So Obama is willing to sacrifice the jobs of millions of American workers?
5. I oppose the troop surge in Iraq.
The troop surge was successful and we have seen an improvement in the security situation and a reduction in violence.
